What is Contagious Disease?

The disease that can be transmitted from one person to another is called contagious disease.

For Example, COVID-19, Flu, Polio, Tuberculosis (TB) and Hepatitis are contagious diseases.

The symptoms for a flu patient are congested or runny nose and headache.

The germ virus called corona is the cause of COVID-19. It affects the entire body including lungs. In 2019-20 this virus has affected the entire world; it is transmitted from one person to another through social contacts and respiration.

A very dangerous germ called virus causes Polio. The virus settles in the throat and intestine of human body, it paralyzes the human legs permanently. It can be transmitted through food, water and air.

Another particular type of germ known as bacteria is main cause of Tuberculosis (TB). This germ affects lungs particularly. COVID-19, Flu, and TB are transmitted from one person to another through coughing, sneezing, by the use of articles of the affected person and during conversation.

The inflammatory condition of the liver is called hepatitis. Its germs are transmitted through polluted water, food or blood.

What is Non-contagious Disease?

Non-contagious is a disease that is not transmitted from one  person to another. For Example, Diabetes, Cancer etc.

Sugar level in the blood increases for the person suffering from diabetes. Its symptoms are excessive thirst, hunger, urination, fatigue and weight loss, affecting several organs like heart, eyes and kidneys etc.

While cancer can attack any part of the body, may include, liver, stomach, intestine or blood. In the Cancer, there may be uncontrolled increase in the number of cells in the affected organ. It may remain confined to any particular organ or may spread in the whole body.
