Classification of Plants

Plants are classified into two (02) major groups:

1. Flowering Plants
2. Non-flowering Plants

Flowering Plants

Those plants on which flowers grow are called flowering plants. These may be herbs, shrubs and trees.

Examples: Guava, Lemon, Mustard, Rose, Sunflower etc.

Non-flowering Plants

Those plants on which flowers do not grow are called non-flowering plants.

Examples: Fern, Moss, Confers, Juniper, Sago palm, Thuja etc.
