English Conversation: Seventh Lesson: At the Hairdresser

This article is about a dialogue at hair salon.

Customer: Good morning!

Receptionist: Good morning, Sir! How can I help you?

Customer: I want to get my haircut.

Receptionist: Do you have an appointment?

Customer: No. I don’t.

Receptionist: our hairdresser is with a customer. You have to wait about five minutes.

Customer: No problem.

Receptionist: I’ll let you know when your turn comes.

Customer: Thank you.

Receptionist: What is your name?

Customer: I’m Steven.

Receptionist: Okay! Please wait in the waiting room!

After five minutes.

Receptionist: Mr. Steve you can go now!

Hairdresser: Good morning! Please, have a seat. … What would you like to have done today?

Customer:  I’d just like a trim please.

Hairdresser: Sure sir! How short would you like taken off the sides?

Customer:  About one inch please.

Hairdresser: and on the top and back?

Customer:  two inches please.

Hairdresser: There you go sir!

Customer: Wow! I really like it.

Hairdresser: I’m glad that you liked it. Is there anything I can do for you?

Customer:  No thanks. How much, please?

Hairdresser: Its ten dollars.

Customer:  Here you are. Keep the change.

Hairdresser: Thank you sir! Thanks for coming.

Another conversation

At reception the phone bell rings.

Receptionist: Hello! Sunshine salon. How can I help you today?

Customer:  Hi! Julie speaking! I’d like to get my haircut today. Do you have openings this evening?

Receptionist: Yes ma’am. We have openings this evening. When would you like to come?

Customer: I’d like to come at 6PM. Will that be okay?

Receptionist: Sure, you can come. May I’ve your name, please?

Customer: My name is Julie.

Receptionist: Ok Ma’am. We’ll be waiting for you. Take care.

At about 6PM

Customer: Good evening!

Receptionist: Good evening, ma’am. What can I do for you?

Customer: I booked an appointment for my haircut.

Receptionist: What’s your name?

Customer: Julie.

Receptionist: please proceed to the room.

Customer: okay. Thanks.

Hairdresser: Hi, Ms. Julie. I’m your hairdresser today. Nice to meet you. Please have a seat.

Customer:  Nice to meet you too, Thanks.

Hairdresser: What would you like to have done today?

Customer:  I want a new hairstyle. Look at my hair. My hair is messy.

Hairdresser: Don’t worry. I’ll give you a new hairstyle.

After some time.

Customer:  Wow! I love it what a hairstyle.

Hairdresser: You look stunning.

Customer:  Thanks. I would like to get my hair colored.

Hairdresser: What color do you prefer?

Customer:  Dark blonde, please.

After some time.

Hairdresser: Did you like this color?

Customer:  Yeah. It looks good on me.

Hairdresser: What else would you like to have done today?

Customer:  That’s all.
