Matter

Anything having mass and occupies space is called matter.

States of Matter and its Properties

Matter exists in following three (03) states:

  1. Solid
  2. Liquid
  3. Gas

Characteristics/ Properties of Matter

Solid

The things which don’t become smaller on pressing means their volume does not change are called solids.

Liquids

Liquids have definite volume but their shape is not definite.

Gas

Gases have neither a definite shape nor definite volume.
