Sound is produced by vibration in an object. Sound is a form of energy. Sound needs some medium to travel. So, medium is air, and the vibrations reach our ears through the particles in the air. We hear sounds in this way.
Our vocal cords in the throat vibrate and produce sounds as we speak.
We cannot hear the sounds of the explosions in the Sun. This is because sound cannot travel in the space.
Important Information
Similar to light, sound is also reflected.
What is an Echo?
When sound bounces back from an object at a certain distance, and we hear it again, then it is called an echo.
The reflecting surface should be at least 17 meters away from the source of sound in order to hear a clear echo.
A hard and smooth object reflects better sound.
Bats use echoes to catch preys in darkness. The emit sounds from mouth and by sensing the echoes, they find their way in darkness to reach their preys.
very nice
